on hearing Rosenberg Erna, ex. students of gymnasium from Belgrade, now residing in Kragujevac in Svetozar Miletić ul. no. 5.

I

My name is Erna Rosenberg, I was born on February 15, 1926, in Belgrade, from father Aleksandar and mother Marija, born. Verber, Jewish, Mosesian faith, unmarried, not convicted, police unpunished. Physically and mentally healthy.

II

In December of last year, I went into illegality because of the fact that at that time the authorities started arresting and putting them in a concentration camp in Jewish and Jewish children. At first, I was hiding in a building on the corner of Sarplaninska Street and Mirijevski road, and later I went to Čukarica, where I was hiding in one abandoned house and then in one cave beneath the German military cemetery. On the next day, I went to Čukarica streets with my sister Anita, for whom I knew nothing from the day of escape. Anita was in the company of Fruhter Marte, also a Jew, whom I knew from my sight since she was employed for some time in our former glass factory. Since we had established a relationship at that time, I have seen with Anita and Marta from time to time, and on one day there was a conversation between us about this, in order for me to obtain a document with a real name. Marta took over this and in May this year she brought me one day a personal ticket with my photo, but with the name "Vera Mihailović". For this service, I did not pay anything directly to Mart, but before that, I made a certain amount of money from time to time, as much as I could earn with my work, in the total amount of about 2000 dinars. From whom Marta received this ID and did not know what she paid for the service.

As soon as I got a false ID card, I traveled to Kragujevac, where after a short period of time I was employed by a pastry shop. Then I went to the Military Technical Institute, where I was employed to read the casings, and after that, I went to the Public Stock Exchange where I served as a translator of the German language. In the Public Labor Exchange, I came to the idea of traveling to Germany to work and I signed an employment contract in the company A.E.G. In Berlin. During my engagement in Kragujevac, I took out a personal identification card in the City Police Presence on the same name as on the ID card obtained in Belgrade, thinking that this card, which is properly issued, will be safer than a false ID card obtained in Belgrade.

Having obtained the necessary documents for the journey to Germany, I wrote a correspondence to my sister Aranka Rosenberg, who is hiding in Belgrade under the false name "Ljubica Nikolic", with her apartment in Skerliceva Street No. 20, that I will come to Belgrade and when, July 31, I arrived in Belgrade, met with my sister Anita near the National Theater, and we planned to go to the apartment of Marta Fruhter. After meeting with Marta, we went together to the town to find out where I would stay and we were arrested by the police authorities.

She traveled from Kragujevac and Savic Bogdan, where I lived in Kragujevac in the last time. And Bogdana got a contract of employment In Germany, she went on this road, but she was also arrested with her in the company. However, Bogdana is not aware that I am a Jew, nor have any closer connections with me.

That's all I have to say about myself since I began to hide from power and to arrest. I add that I am not a member of any illegal organization, and at least I am a member of the Communist Party or Communist Youth. I was forced to be concealed as a Jew because I was afraid that I would be arrested, and for the same reasons I also procured false documents.

The exam is read to me and my words are verbally written.
