About the examination of BORENIC ANDREJA, formerly baptized Jew, Josip Bruk, by occupation the manager of the mine "Tisovik" near Ljubovija, with a permanent residence in the village of Dragodol, with the district of Azbukovac.

My name is Boranić Andreja, and formerly Vruk Josip, I was the occupant of mine "Tisovik" mine "Minero" A.D. I was baptized in 1939, I was born on May 31, 1913. in Slavonska Požega, father Isaiel Bruk and mother Ružica born. Litauer, I am Orthodox, and I am married to a Serbian citizen. Dražić. I have one female child, my wife is a native of Kovin, I'm a citizen. King. Yugoslavia, never accused and not convicted.

I live in Belgrade since 1935. constantly since 1937, when I was appointed administrator manager of the mine "Tisovik" I married in 1937. and I took the wife of Kosovka Dražić from Kovin, for whom I married in a civil marriage.
Under my name, I was until I939. I do not recall now the date, when I decided to convert and go into Orthodoxy. I completed all the arrangements about the conversion to Orthodoxy at the Banska Administration in Sarajevo and in the Patriarchate in Belgrade through the church of St. George on Čukarica. When everything was ready, I was baptized in the Church of St. Djordje. I do not remember the date, and the necessary information will be given by the Administration of the Church of Sv. Djordje in Cukarica. During the baptism, as I had the previous name JOSIP = ANDERJA BRUK, the priest has left both names as it was my wish and only change was the surname of Bruk into Boranić. The Godfather was Uros Nedeljkovic, a member of parliament from Krupanj.
This change and faith and surname came out in the relevant official gazette in the year 1939.
This conversion, I intended to do even earlier since my mother is by the birth Aryan and by faith r. Catholic.
From the day of the baptism until I had to leave the mine, I lived at the mine or in the village of Dragodol near the mine.
At the beginning of August 1941, due to the approaching of the communists to the mines, I was personally forced to evacuate my family and myself, first to Valjevo and then to Beorgad. All my belongings and property remained in the apartment in the village of Dragodol, Plavsici hamlet.
My wife and child stayed in Valjevo for some time while I came to Belgrade immediately.
All my other family like: uncle, mother, brother "sister-in-law and their child stayed in the village of Dragodol.
On arrival in Belgrade in August, the first thing that happened was me to contact my directorship of "Minero" A.D. which company had already been under the commissariat, and the commissioner was Mr. Franja Ertl, and from that I was given a confirmation, with which I stayed in my duties.
Commissioner Ertl, as well as other members of the company, knew of my Jewish origin from my father, and I did not hide it from them, and in addition, the company, as such, issued me a power of attorney.
With this power of attorney and with my other documents, I reported to the authorities in Belgrade and when the time came for the issuance of my personal IDs, I received it on the basis of those documents.
I did not do any forgeries, nor did I do anything to get my ID card, but only on the basis of my previous documents.
As for my acquaintance and my relationship with Jelena Sardelic, I met her in October or November 1940 in Belgrade, and I fell in love with her at that time, and I thought to later divorce from my first wife and to marry her, about which I agreed with my wife.
She even came to my place before the war and until after my departure, and I came to her to Belgrade when she arrived.
From August, until the time I was arrested in Vrsac, I traveled all the time in Serbia as well as Banat on trading business, both company's and my own, always arranging for documents and announcements.
From February 16, 1942, when I began to suspect my former friends that they wanted to get rid of me in some way, since I worked out their businesses, I decided to go away from Belgrade. As Jelena had previously gone to Vrsac, she had an aunt Lena Nenadovic, and as I heard from these ladies of the tragedy that befell my family in the village of Dragodol, I saw that there was no place for me in Belgrade, and I decided to go to Jela and her aunt in Vrsac. I went with a regular announcement, and I reported there to the authorities. I did not hide, but I lived freely in Vrsac until the day of the arrest. Jela's aunt, I think she knew that I was a descendant of the father of a Jew.
Jovanovic Ratko, was my clerk in Rudnik, whom I personally set up and sent to work, since he was previously by profession market. Assistant.
And he, like everyone else, knew that I was originally, by father a Jew. He did not help me to get any kind of false documents, because he did not need to, because I had them all in order and it was completely legitimate.
What became of my things and the house in the village of Dragodol, I do not know, and the things that are in the Jelena's apartment, are her personal property from a few years ago, and I know a part of these she bought herself and the other part she got from her ex. the friar of Vojislav Radović, a few years before the war.
The things I had in a studio in Bircaninova Street No. 56 My wife has, since these were also her property, a part she took with her, and she sold another, so that she could support herself for a month or two.
I did not hide my Jewish origins from anybody, and as such I reported to my municipal authorities in Dragodol.
Nobody was secretly concealing me, nor did I hide from the authorities, and therefore no one can answer for a cover-up.
As far as my family is concerned, I figured that my wife was a Serb, and that my wife was baptized in a royal church under the name of Dusanka. Since I am in detention, my family has no support from me on that side, because my wife is from a poor family.
That's all I had to say, and the background of this purely material nature was coveted by the engineer Ivan Belcic and Slavko Kekic from Belgrade, with whom I previously had business connections and that it was in their interest for me to disappear because I had them with them claims of larger amounts.
