Verena Lucia Nägel is engaged in political sciences and research work at the Centre for Digital Studies at the Free University of Berlin. Her work is focused on integrating testimonial videos of the Holocaust survivors into research, education and the school system in Germany. She is also a professor at the Free University of Berlin.
The “Forced Labour 1939-1945” Project. Memory and History
At the Symposium in Belgrade, the author presented her project „Forced Labour 1939‒1945“, which consists of video interviews from the Free University of Berlin archives (Freie Universität), which bear testimony to concentration camp prisoners and prisoners of war from occupied countries, who were subjected to forced labour in Germany. The archive contains 590 audio and video interviews with the survivors.
