Thomas Porena is currently pursuing his doctoral studies at The Humboldt University of Berlin. His research is focused on deportation policies of Italy and Germany applied to the population of the former Yugoslavia during the Second World War, as well as repatriation to Yugoslavia after the war. He is also engaged in education methodologies related to the history of deportations and forced labour in Germany.
The Return of Forced Labourers to Yugoslavia
The work analyses the repatriation of Yugoslav prisoners of war, internees, and forced labourers at the end of the Second World War, with particular attention to repatriation and social integration of forced labourers on the territory of Serbia.
