Map of the locations of Jews arrested in Belgrade <\/h3>\n

Detailed interactive and geo-referenced map of Belgrade is presented in a GIS application with a contemporary map, satellite images, historical map and aerial photos from the WW II period. On the active place-marks of the victims' and witness' locations, are archival data with descriptions and signatures from the archived records of the Special Police for Jews, the \"State Commission for Establishing the Crimes of the Occupiers and Their Abettors.\" and the Jewish Museum in Belgrade. The data structure follows the data available in the records. The work on these maps is ongoing and does not represent the final number of victims or to fully represent the state of historical records.<\/p>\n

Selection of base layers:<\/strong> Satellite image, Open street map, Topographic map, Minimal maps, light, and dark.<\/p>\n

Map contents (layers):<\/strong> Geo-referenced Situational city plan of Belgrade from 1937, in 1:5000 scale (VGI), Geo-referenced reconnaissance aerial photographs from bombing raids on Belgrade in 1944 (USAF), Vector layer of objects of historical importance and neighborhoods of importance to the subject. The accuracy of geo-referenced historical maps is approx. 3m.<\/p>\n

User options:<\/strong> Place-markers, clustering, selection of base layers and layer transparencies are user adjustable. Bookmarking and drawing shapes are also available.<\/p>\n

The project was realized with funds from the first cycle of program funding in the field of science, culture and education of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Serbia related to the Holocaust in Serbia, supported by the funds of the Republic of Serbia on the basis of the Law on Removing the Consequences of the Dispossession of the Property of the Holocaust victims without living legal successors.
