on the hearing of Andrejevic Andreja, a lawyer from Belgrade who is suspected of being Jewish and hiding under a fake name.

My name is Andrejevic Andrija, I am a law student trainee, I was born on August 18, 1913 in Budapest from the father Evgenije and mother of Josefina born Ungar, married to Theresa born Ciger, of Roman Catholic religion, Serbian nationality, with a flat in Skadarska u1. 41 in Belgrade

My real legitimate name is Andrej Andrejevic, not some false surname. Previously, my family name was Polaček, but this last name was changed to the current surname Andrejevic by law, that is through the regular procedure for changing the surname under the personal names law. The bearing of a new family name Andrejevic was approved by the decision of the Belgrade Board of Administration sometime around 1936. The only reason I asked for this changed the surname was in that, because I always felt in everything as a Serb, so I did not want to keep my previous foreign surname.
Previous name Polaček is Czech and is the surname since my father originally came from the Czech Republic.
As an engineer, an expert in the construction of tunnels, bridges and the like, he was calling from Czechoslovakia to our country immediately after the World War to restore the country by his expert work, by our then government. As the superintendent of the state service, he has been running works for the construction of state roads for many years, such as Uzice-Vardište, Kraljevo-Raska and similar.
I finished all my schools in Yugoslavia, from elementary school and gymnasium, with law school and doctorate. My national identity and patriotism can at any time be confirmed by a number of prominent witnesses. I have many school friends who know me thoroughly and who will always be able to confirm that I am Czech, it is of Slavic origin and that I have always been Catholic.
I was born as a Christian, from Christian parents, which will also be confirmed.
In case of need, I will procure and go to the document on the origin of my ancestors, up to the third knee.
I can also at any time prove that the show has always led the fight against communist tendencies and has always been nationally marked. Illustrating the fact that I was doing the case in the Association of Law Attorneys, at the annual assembly, I fought bitterly against the presence of leftist power representatives in the association, which is why I have even been advertised for some fascist. This can be confirmed by Commissar Nedic, now the head of the personal section of U.G.B. who was the envoy of authorities at that assembly. I have my doctoral thesis in the field of national-racist doctrine in criminal law and for years studied the latest German national socialist literature for this purpose, and today I have only the latest German-language works in the field in the library.
The correctness of my character, the circumstance that I have always been in every respect a Serb, the origin of mine and my family is known to many officials and the Administration of the City of Belgrade, and I believe that my above statements will be confirmed by the gentlemen who know me well, as Mr. Vidak Paković, Radoslav Nikolic, Dusan Pavlovic, Vlada Popovic and in case of need and many others.
In 1935, I graduated from the Law Faculty in Belgrade, and since 1933, I work in a lawyer in Belgrade, and for over 5 years I worked with famous Belgrade lawyer Lekić Bogdan Obilićev venac no. 3, and I also worked for a long time in the District Court and the County Court, even after the war, and now I was supposed to open my law office.
That's all I have to say. The exam is read to me and I acknowledge it for my own.

on the subsequent hearing of Andrejevic Andreja, an attorney trainee from Belgrade who is suspected of being Jewish, that he had taken a passport for Hungary under a fake name and to be hiding from the authorities.

My name is Andrejevic Andreja. I am a lawyer trainee born on August 18, 1913. in Buda Pest, father of Evgenije and mother Jozefina, born Ciger, with a flat in Belgrade in ul. Skadarskaya 41.

As at the first hearing of these authorities, I missed to say many things for myself and I have now gained the conviction that the authorities have information about me, I decided to add to my first interrogation and admit everything about myself.
I first tried to obtain a passport for Hungary in the name of Mr Lukic Radmilo, a lawyer from Belgrade, about two months ago. The ID card of Lukic's attorney I got because I asked him to borrow me for a short time. I thought that I would take out a passport in his name and go to Hungary to get some documents and return with them. I borrowed ID card under the pretext that I needed it for a legal intervention.
The procedure for withdrawing the passport remained unsuccessful because Mr. Lukic announced the invalidity of the ID, because I could not return it within the time limit I promised, since the procedure for taking the passport took a long time.
The second time I was looking for a passport in the name of Ljutomirac Tihomir, a craftsman, but I did not succeed in that, as I was informed that the reason for the trip was necessary for the approval of the travel, and such proof would not be possible to obtain. I invented Ljutomirac Tihomir's name and did not have any documents on that behalf.
To obtain the first passport Nikola Petrovic, Director of Yugoslav Loyd, intervened, for whom I heard that he can procure a passport because he has good relations with our and Hungarian authorities. Nikola Petrovic's wife is from a reputable Hungarian family, as far as I know. I gave Nikola Petrovic for this intervention, an envelope with 5,000 dinars, in the name of his honorary.
My father, mother and sister Vera, a private clerk were taken by xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx authorities under the suspicion of being Jewish and then I do not know anything more about them. My family was taken away in February of this year.
Since February of this year, I lived in Pancevo in Admiral Sher st. 16 with Josif Traublived under a citizen name of Lukić Radmilo, a lawyer, and I traveled with travel declarations taken at the X quarter.
That's all I have to say about this. The exam is read to me and all my words are inscribed in it and I acknowledge it for my own sake.
